Kevin started his career at KPMG in Leeds where he trained and became a member of the Chartered Institute of Tax in 1992. He then joined Baker Tilly in Manchester in 1994, and spent his last three years there as the national partner responsible for the development of tax innovations.
Kevin set up his own business in 1999 as an independent tax consultant, and has worked since then advising High Net Worth Individuals on a broad range of personal tax matters, including private client tax planning. Kevin has many years’ experience of dealing with employment related matters, intellectual property structures, estate and succession planning as well as advising on residence and domicile status matters. Kevin also has a number of years’ experience advising on the tax implications of divorce and particularly the tracing of funds held in overseas structures.
In the last few years, he has advised a number of private clients with EBT and other trust structures implemented by other promoters which have been the subject of HMRC enquiry cases, and has successfully negotiated favourable settlement terms with HMRC under the EBT Settlement Opportunity on behalf of those clients.
