Paul Harrison

Paul spent the first 9 years of his career at HMRC. On qualification as a Fully Trained Inspector he was a District Inspector, then Investigator and Officer in Charge at Special Compliance Office.

Paul joined KPMG in 1995 and was appointed Partner in 1998. He led KPMG’s UK Tax Investigations practice for 14 years based mainly in central London advising clients ranging from MNEs, SMEs and HNWIs on tax investigations and disputes, involving both UK and overseas tax authorities.

Paul retired as a KPMG Partner in March 2016 and joined Trident shortly thereafter. In addition to providing tax investigations and related advice to our clients, Paul leads Trident’s services for larger businesses in relation to their management of tax risk. This includes, for example, providing independent challenge around the implementation of cross border transfer pricing; and dealing with the legal obligations around Senior Accounting Officer, publishing tax strategies, and prevention of tax evasion facilitation (notably in the financial and professional services sectors).
