Umar joined Trident Tax in April 2026, having previously worked at PwC and Deloitte.
He began his career at Deloitte, where he worked in the Private Client Services team advising high-net-worth individuals and their families, owner-managed businesses and family offices covering advisory and compliance matters. His experience includes annual tax return compliance, trust returns, HMRC correspondence and supporting clients with a range of private client tax issues, including matters affecting non-domiciled individuals.
Umar later joined PwC as a Senior Associate in the Real Assets Portfolio team, where he managed corporate tax compliance for real estate-based clients and supported the delivery of complex compliance processes across a range of engagements. His work included reviewing corporate tax returns and gaining expertise in QIPs calculations and CIR returns.
Umar is ACA qualified and has also passed the Advanced Technical Owner Managed Business paper with the Chartered Institute of Taxation.
Outside work, Umar is a runner and enjoys playing football.
