John Griffin – Tax Consultant
John began his career at HMRC where he trained and worked as an inspector of taxes before leaving to join the tax practice of the “Big 4” firm of KPMG. John worked in the firm’s London, Northampton and Leicester offices and spent the last 5 years of his time at KPMG as ‘Head of Tax’ in the Leicester practice.
John left KPMG at the end of 2008 since which time he has practiced as an independent consultant. John has worked with Trident Tax since 2011.
John has extensive experience in advising on all aspects of taxation (other than VAT which he leaves to the specialists) including advice on M&A transactions, structuring business opportunities, overseas expansion, succession and IHT planning and residence / domicile issues.
John has advised many private companies with EBTs and other trust structures on legacy issues from tax avoidance schemes and has considerable experience in settling HMRC enquiry cases under the EBT and EFRBS settlement opportunities.
