We work closely with clients to ensure they have considered the relevance of the Annual Tax on Enveloped Dwellings, Stamp Duty Land Tax, Capital Gains Tax (both resident and non-resident CGT) and Inheritance Tax.
We provide tax advice to UK and international property investors, this includes advice on the non-resident landlord scheme for taxation of rental profits under both the corporation tax and income tax regimes. This can be particularly complicated for companies that are non-resident landlords as there is also an obligation to file UK accounts.
Apart from the ongoing tax issues with rental profits a key issue can be the longer term plans for the assets and their status for inheritance tax. We work with our clients to develop long term strategies for succession planning which can include family partnerships and utilising share ownership to help transition assets to the next generation.
